Hey Kevin,
I had my discectomy in 2004 and have been diagnosed with the same issues as yourself. Mri shows large amount of scar tissue wrapped around S1. I continue to have problems with both legs and low back. I've had the shots, anti-inflames, etc. I am currently taking Cymbalta for leg pain/ cramps which escalates at night and I have restless legs. It seems to take the edge off the leg pains so far, I take ambien to help me sleep ,but isnt effective anymore, and Vicodin Es 2 to 3x a day. I tell you between the neck, back , tailbone, legs & feet pain the vicodin es works the best, but it only lasts for so long. I have a hard time walking for very long most of the time, and sitting is the worst. I just got a spa a few months ago and spend alot of time in it. P/t was a joke in the past, because of the therapists and at the time it wasnt known my scar tissue as a problem. So I am trying to get into a good p/t program. I am curious if you or anyone else with this suffers from neck problems too. I just got over having severe neck spasms for 2 1/2 days, prolly from over doing things, but My dr.s tell me my pain should be from the low back down to legs/ feet only ? I've had a neck Mri showing 2 mild disc hern. with no compression. Just wondering if any of you scar tissue suffers have neck issues also as a result of an encased lumbar nerve ? Good Luck and I feel your pain !
