This is what my recent MRI disclosed and what the Neurologist said. I will be seeing the Neurosurgeon for the 2nd time Aug 3.

Degenerative arthritic changes cervical spine with osteophytosis along the vertevral body margins. There is a mild degree of degenerative listhesis at multiple levels cervical region. Otherwise, the cervical vertebrae maintain their normal height and MR signal. There is a loss of height and loss of MR signal of the intervertebral disks at C4/5, C5/6, and C6/7 compatible with disk disease. The remainder of the intervertebral disks maintain their normal height and MR signal. Extrinsic pressure and indentation in relation with the thecal sac and cord structure with obliteration of the thecal space from the level of lower margin of C4 to the upper margin of C7. Severe Narrowing of the canal size foramen encroachment bilaterally at C4/5 and C5/6 region. The remainder of the neural foramen failed to show any significant encroachment.

Opinion: 1. Degenerative arthritic changes cervical spine with disk degeneration multiple levels cervical region.

Opinion: 2. Severe canal stenosis from the level of lower margin of C4 to the upper margin of C7, worse at C4/5 and C5/6 with foramen encroachment as well at these sites.

I have been told by Neurologist, but not confirmed by Neurosurgeon as of yet that the main objective will be stabilization of my cervical spine so that I will not become paralyzed. Any pain reduction will be a plus.

I'm almost 52 and at the age of 43 was told my neck looked like I was 70.

I'm praying for a miracle. My Neurosurgeon is the Chief Surgeon and teacher at Loma Linda Hospital and I value his opinion. I will post again after my Aug 3 visit.

Good luck!
Diann
