Hello all,

I am new to this message board. I have laminectomy L4/L5 with fusion on 6/19/06. I have been experiencing a problem that I can't seem to find too many people that experience the same.

I was discharged from the hospital 3 days post op feeling pretty good. The leg pain I experienced prior to surgery was gone and basically I was just dealing with the post up pain.

About 2 weeks after surgery I was able to walk 1/4 mile 2 times a day. I could shower independently, was sleeping well, and was decreasing the pain medication. Then I woke one morning to extreme bilateral leg pain and it hasn't stopped since. I haven't gotten more than 3 hours sleep in over 10 days. They increased the pain medication with no relief. I can live with this during the day, but at night it is driving me over the edge! It feels like my pre-surgical nerve pain. :ast night I did not sleep at all.....not one minute. I am ready to be admitted to the psych ward.

Has anyone else experienced this and DOES IT EVER END? My surgeon is not alarmed and has not even offered to do an MRI.

I am losing it.

Any input would be appreciated.

Brenda
