Back Problems Board Index

Hey everyone this is my first time posting on these boards. I am 24 year old male college student. In Feb. of 2004 I was working in a factory in between college classes to make some money. While working there I started having horrible back back and tingly, burning pain in my left leg and foot. About 2 years of suffering and dealing with all kinds of doctors, epidural injections, MRIs, etc.

The pain doctor I was seeing finally did a IDET procedure on my L4-L5 last June. After the surgery I did notice improvement for probably about 5 or 6 months. It started getting annoying again, not as bad as before. But just recently, probably the last few weeks, my back has been KILLING me again. The last 3 days my legs have been just hurting so bad. Now it is BOTH legs. I don't know what is going on. I am seeing a neurosurgeon who is supposedly really good this Thursday. I just have no idea what is going on.

Do you think the IDET could have made me worse? I just had an MRI last Thursday and I been studying the films. I noticed that the disc he did the procedure on last summer looks like it has a HUGE bulge and you cannot even see the nerve root on the side it is bulging. I could have no idea what I am talking about but I've been comparing all 7 of my MRI films and you can see a huge bulge that wasn't their before. Even if I am wrong interpreting the films what could be going on? I feel really depressed about this, I feel too young to have this types of pain.

I am taking no meds other than Darvocet which just makes me wanna puke. I get no relief and the pain doc who did the surgery says there is nothing he can do. He did not even want to order an MRI! Any opinions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
