Re: Cymbalta
Jul 9, 2007
Hi DP: I posted this same question a couple of weeks ago, and got a lot of good answers (one from you to) and I've hesitated answering this thread, because what I thought was going to work didn't. Remember that we all react completely differently with these meds so you really just need to try it out and decide for yourself, unless you're looking for "specific" reactions that people can guide you on.

I took Cymbalta for 4 days, this may not have been long enough and I could give it another try, but haven't decided if I want to. The first pill made me sleep real good, better than I have in a long time, plus it helped the nerve pain. The second bill didn't do much for the pain and my sleeping went back to what is was-waking every 60 mins-from the pain.

On the third and fourth day I had moderately annoying anxiety, weird feeling, and a spacy kind of feeling. Normally I can't take any antidepressants, because that's how they make me feel and I can't stand it. Anyway I stopped taking it and it took 2 days for that anxiety etc to go away.

Like I said maybe I didn't take it long enough and those probs would have gone away, but I really have a hard time with that type of reaction, so I just stopped them.

I noticed on the 2nd day after I stopped the nerve pain was much worse than usual, so it may have been doing more than I realized or that's how it reacts while coming out of your body.

Well that's my story on it, give it a try it may help, who knows. I'm still trying to decide if I should give it a second shot. I didn't take it long enough to notice any of the things you're wondering about. Although my dr said that the SNRI don't cause the weigth gain like the SSRI's. Oh and no stomach probs and my stomach is pretty sensitive.
