Hi, all

Just an update - had my second session yesterday on the DRX9000. Spasms started shortly after in lower left back (just above the hip bone/SI area). Slept about a total of 2 hours (off and on, a few minutes at a time). Hesitated to take anything because of the supplements he has me on. So........... tired and feeling a little better I'm going in for my third at 3:00 mst today.

I called them this morning and the doc said I could take aspirin/tylenol, etc. but that's about it. It has subsided so I'm making it through.

BTW, first session was pretty good and I was feeling real good that evening (pain less than normal, but not gone) and then back to normal levels the following morning. Yesterday on the "rack" though, I had pretty good pain in my left leg and 'like spasm' sensation in my left lower back area. Should have been my first clue it maybe would not be a good night. I'm in this for the long haul unless it kills me!

Oh, well, keep you updated.

Hi, guys

Cuda - it's soooo good to hear from you! Sorry about the headaches. Do you deal with migranes? My husband is borderline hypoglycemic (sp?) and gets some doozies sometimes if he eats wrong.

My dad used to have an old Chrysler 300 - WHAT A CAR! Maroon with Maroon leather seats. (remember the old push button transmissions?)

Cj - You are so sweet. Wouldn't it be awesome to actually meet all these people you become so close to on the boards? I'm really glad your boss was more understanding yesterday. It helps, huh? My boss can be a real pill (we're self-employed!).

Thanks for your well wishes. I am really sorry to report this........ (as you can see by the time of this post that it's actually 2:00 a.m. mst which means...of course that I can't sleep!) Not a good time on the rack yesterday this is what happened:

I was in there all smiles and excited because, even though I woke up yesterday morning with more intense pain than I am used to, It eased a lot prior to my appointment at 3. (I have a theory about the pain thing, too I'll share if I can still sit later). They take a daily "diary" of the progress and all were happy for me.

We go into the "dungeon" as I call it, he straps me in (always painful putting the dog-gone - [I can't think of what they call them] "straps" on because they have to cinch them up real tight and it just flat hurts. And then he always loosens them for me . He loosened them a little too much, he put the machine on pause, tightened them up, turned the machine back on and it went from no weight to 80# in 2 seconds. It jerked me and pulled so hard. He came running up to me to see if I was okay and it then released with the same velocity.

THEN, (he is just a technician) he kept me on it for the full 30 minutes. I told him I was having a tough time with spasms in my left AND right hip and shooting pains down the outside to front of both thighs and spasms in my lower back. Not excruciating, though, so I thought they would even out which they did. I just concentrated and breathed through them.

I almost couldn't stand it to get off that table. Almost couldn't get off the table. Almost passed out with the pain. I don't know what happened but I'm sure we'll discuss it today when I'm in at 11. I had a massage scheduled directly after which was awesome. He didn't go deep at all (which he usually "reefs" pretty good), just really pampered me.

Anyway, that's my story for today. I'm a little scared to go in today. If they reevaluate me and decide that this just isn't going to work, where does that leave me? (same place it did before, waiting on me to receive what Jesus purchased for me) I'm just maybe a little ..., I don't know, probably just tired. I'll be fine and quit whining.

Thanks again guys, for walking through this with me. All my friends are mad at me right now. Last week I was asked to speak at a women's conference for a church we are affiliated with and I declined because of this new therapy - didn't know how I'd be feeling (hadn't started it yet) and didn't want to over-tax myself.

They don't understand - you guys do! Thanks. I'll post as soon as I can on how I'm doing. Thanks for caring!

Hi Husker,

I read about the DRX9000 and I would be interested in
a site I could read about it. I hope it works for you.

RAndy
Morning, all

Been up since about 4:00 BUT NOT BECAUSE OF PAIN!! Because my husband had a stinking cough that wouldn't go away, so I've been up working (one of the draw backs of working out of your home!)

Thank you so much for all your support, prayers and well wishes. I only pray you all know how much it means. Honestly, I'm so excited

I am noticing subtle positive changes:

1) Yesterday, getting off the table wasn't nearly as painful as before. Still had spasms walking and alot of pain above my left hip in back, but nothing like it was and it subsided.

2) When they ice me after the rack and put the muscle stem on, I have to lie on my stomach and have had to have my feet rest on a deal that almost kept my knees bent at a 45 degree angle because of the pain. Today, I think I can rest my feet on a regular pillow at the end of the table instead.

3) Wasn't near as painful this morning when I got out of bed as normal - AND.... the barometer changed last night when a cold snap came in. Before, that would have put me down for a while.

4) I can get up from my computer and walk without limping and excruciating pain before "settling" into walking and moving.

*************** ****************

He worked a little on my upper back where the ribs were out yesterday. Still spasming a little and sore but better.

I think that's all I have to report on today. It looks to be a GOOOOOOD day for the Husker. I so pray that everyone else has a good day as well.

OMAB - Wow!!!!! That's a lot of hours to work 12.5? Is that what you said? What do you do and PLEASE don't overdo. How are you feeling after that marathon?

CJ - Sorry I didn't respond to the linament thing - we also have a herbal linament thing we use for the horses and on us. I can't think of what it's called right now, but it has some kind of hot pepper extract in it that actually deadens nerves for a while. (I had used it on my elbows in the past also) What's the stuff you use? Do you remember?

Davy D - You are too funny! :-) You make me smile big, my friend!! As you can see, I really think this is going to work. Hard to imagine that something that can inflict so much pain can first of all be legal, second - I pay for it (what's that all about?) and third - that it can help. I am VERY optimistic at this point. Thank you so much for your well wishes!

MaryLou - They put you on your back on this table while the table is vertical. Then they slowly lower it to a horizontal position. When it's done (about 30 minutes) they then raise it back to vertical. The first wave of pain happens when gravity takes hold again and everything compresses. The next wave of pain happens when you actually take a step out and put weight on. But, as you read, yesterday wasn't nearly as painful as it has been :-).

THANKS AGAIN, EVERYONE. I'LL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED - GOOD OR BAD :-) :-) (used up all my smilies :-( )
