Apparently per my insurance company. My doc's office finally got back to me & since the PM ordered PT (at my request, I might add), my GP can't refer me to a spine specialist until the PT is done.

How does that make sense?

My concern is that the pain is getting progressively worse. I've got several dx's including spondylothesis (sp?), grade 1, spondylosis with myelopathy, DDD, synovial cyst ( compressing L4 nerve root as does the L5 over S1) & I don't ever remember the rest now.

Now I'm worried that some of these issues could get worse as we delay seeing a specialist. Maybe not. I don't know. Maybe the PT will know & be able to avoid aggravating anything.

I have been pushing for PT for weeks in hopes of finding some cardio I can do without making my back & knee worse.

But I don't get the logic of putting off the specialist. Obviously it's financial, but it just seems to be that I should be able to see a specialist or at least make the appointment.
