Hi...I'm new here (again) and have an issue that's a little frightening. Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions you can offer.

About a year ago I started having spontaneous numbness in spots(the size of a half dollar) on my left calf, left buttock and left side of my back. About 4 months ago I noticed more spots becoming numb, the affected areas getting bigger and the length of time the area stays numb is longer and longer. The numbness area in my back now goes the entire length of the left side-and it's spreading around my side to the front of my chest. The spot on my calf was initially the size of a half dollar--now it covers the entire length of the back of my calf. The side of my buttock now covers my entire hip and cheek going up my back. I have no pain what so ever. The numbness has no rhyme or reason as to when it happens. I can be lying in bed, sitting in a chair or standing at the sink and the area will be come numb and I have that warm feeling of it spreading. It's kind of scary. I can be standing still-I dont even have to be moving and the numbness begins. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this--is it indicative of an MS type of disease? Is it neuropathy-and what causes sporadic, random numbness. Again, I have no pain at all....just a LOT of numbness. I dont think its a pinched nerve. I'm just not sure which way to go -- I'm VERY scared--and it's clear I need to see a doctor but am unsure which one to go to. Thanks again for your help...I'm feeling quite scared at this point. (can you tell? )
