Just receive Clinical Summary: Lumbargo, pain radiating to the lower limb
Procedure and Findings:Multiplanar multisequential lumbar spine mri scans are presented
- There is early reversal of lumbar lordosis implying a muscle spasm.
- All lumbar discs are hypointense on T2W suggesting reduced water content.
- Axial scans shows a diffuse annulus disc prolapse at L3/L4 and L4/L5.
- The prolasping disc material indents the cal sac.
These are associated with bilateral radicular canal narrowing at the same levels.
Spinal dimension is reduced at L3/L4 and L4/L5

Conclusion- L3/L4 disc prolapse with bilateral neuralforamina stenosis
Dessicated Lumbar discs
Moderate lumbar canal stenosis at L3/L4 and L5/L6
Lumbar muscle spasm

Doctor recommended the following for my 68 yr old mom that due:
evidence of disc prolapse L3L4 L4L5 causing compression of the dural sheath and nerve roots at that level. Requires posterior decompression L3L4 L4L5 posterior stabilisation and fusion with cages L3L4 L4L5.
