Sequences taken: Sagittal-T1,T2 Axial-T1,T2 Coronal T2
MRI of lumbo-sacral spine reveals loss of normal lordosis.
 Osteophytic changes are seen at lumbar vertebrae.
 Type I/II endplate change is seen at L2 to L5 vertebrae.
 Aletered signal intensity hyper in T2 is noted at L3-L4 & L-4 & L-5 disc level suggesting annular tear.
 Intervertebral discs show altered signal intensity hypo in T2 at L2-L3 to L5-S1 levels.
 Generalised disc bulge is seen at L2-L3,L3-L4,&L5-S1 levels, generalised disc bulge with posterior mild left para-central type of disc protrusion is seen at L4-L5 level causing compromisation of anterior thecal space.
 Lateral recesses are narrowed on both sides at L2-L3 to L5-S1 levels.
 Neural foramina are narrowed on both sides at their inferior aspect at L2-L3 to L5-S1 levels.
 Visualised cord and conus region appear normal.
 Neural arch elements appear normal.
 Visualised pre/para vertebral soft tissue appear normal.
 AP diameter of spinal canal at different disc levels in mm are :-
L1-L2=21,L2-L3=18,L3-L4=16,L4-L5=14,L5-S1=15.

IMPRESSION: - Plain MRI of lumbo-sacral spine suggests :-
1) Degenerative disc disease with generalised disc bulge at L2-L3,L3-L4& L5-S1 levels, generalised disc bulge with posterior mild left paracentral disc protrusion at L4-L5 level.
2) Lateral recess and neural foraminal narrowing on both sides at L2-L3 to L5-S1 levels.
