... yeah, I had one too. ONE and I am not looking forward to ever having one again. BUT, if I thought it would help me in the long run I sure would do it in a heartbeat. I WOULD get all the sedation they could possibly give me... (7 replies)
... For me, it was well worth it. Yes, it doesn't feel good and I was scared to death...but I did take the verssed/fenetyl (sp?) cocktail. They sedated me enough that I was out while they inserted the needle and they brought me out of it just long enough for me to tell them just how bad it hurt (and it hurt bad) but then they put me out again. I actually had 4 levels tested and... (7 replies)
... You are very welcome! I didn't feel the needle for the discogram going in, if I remember right my dr. used a local anethstetic (sp?) to numb it first and I felt that needle a little (very little). What hurts the most? They are injecting a dye into your disc to see everything very well and to see if it creates your normal pain. I'm sorry to say that if the disc is bad it... (7 replies)
... Thank you so much for your reply!! Did you feel the needle going into your back? I thought my surgeon told me they would numb that portion. What hurt the most about the entire procedure? When the needle was actually inserted inside the disk, is that what hurt the most? I guess I'm wanting to know what the most painful part of this procedure is?! Thank you again!! Look forward... ... Hi Shortstuff! I've had two positive discograms. I don't want to scare you :nono: but they are not a pleasant test to say the least. Make sure you take the sedation (usually versed) when it's offered, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, decline sedation unless you are unable to have it for some other medical reason. It doesn't put you all the way out, the call it... (7 replies)
