... Avoid anything that avoids twisting or bending at the waist. If you should happen to have a fractured pars or a spondylolisthesis, it can be made worse by inappropriate movement. Some gentle exercise is good...probably nothing that you would find appealing! But walking remains the best exercise for anyone with back/spine issues. Swimming is often recommended, but...
