Disc degeneration

The main thing that distinguishes your issue from the typical herniation is the potential of the disc fragment...but I don't believe that changes how you would approach treatment or even your thinking on whether you should have surgery. ... ... I take it that your husbands worst pain is in his legs not his back. If the pain is because of nerve root compression a spinal epidural with cortisone injection can be very beneficial. Epidural injects don't do that much for back pain but the referred leg pain can very much be relieved. ... (2 replies)
