... Welcome to the board. Unfortunately it is not unusual to develop issues in a segment adjacent to a segment that has been fused. The x-Ray will only show the vertebrae and things that you can see from the placement of the bones. You will need a MRI to see if there are issues with soft tissue such as the discs, etc. The foramen are the openings located at each vertebra... (1 replies)
