... Hi, according to me you should go for biopsy first that will help you to detect cancer or if it is just normal pain, acupuncture treatment is quick solution. Read about it at https://plus.***********/100923324972089266153/about?hl=en. (2 replies)

... Dee, did you get a Rx from Dr. G? His nurse will not give me anymore pain meds, knowing that I need L3-4 fused. She told me that I have not made an appointment for the surgery and I reminded her that I must see my immunologist in Cleveland prior to surgery, which is the first of May. I also told Dr. G that I wanted to make sure that I had fused from the first surgery before... (2 replies)
... Thanks, I will be scheduling an appointment tomorrow. HL (4 replies)

... I think the rule of 3 is for one particular area, the injections I received were all over my lumbar spine and SI joints. The only injection that worked was a selective nerve root between L4-5, which is where I had my fusion. All of the others did not work. I would really like to know what the protocol is for diagnosing the source of pain using epidural injections. HL (17 replies)
... I was under the impression you should have no more than 3 in a year or am I confused?? (17 replies)
... Cherir, What wonderful news! You give us all hope! It is going to be nice here today and I will be walking some too. HL (10 replies)
... I had seven injections in a period of 2.5 months, they made me very irritable, unable to sleep, witchy, I did gain 2-4 pounds after each injection, but lost it within a week or so, water retention? Who knows. My PCP told me no more cortisone as he thinks I now have adrenal insufficiency. I hate the shots, not because they are painful (they are) but because they... (17 replies)
... GBR, sorry to hear about the weight gain associated with Lyrica. I have not taken Lyrica, but did take Neurotinin (sp) and the side effects were just too much and quit taking it. I know how hard it is to gain weight when you have worked so hard to lose it, I used to way 200+. Hang in there, HL (23 replies)

Medicine Question

... My take is to stay medicated, it is much easier to keep pain under control, then to start from scratch so to speak. I read somewhere that people who are taking medicine for pain are not very likely to be come addicted, they are more likely to become dependent, dependent in the sense that you are keeping the pain at bay. Prior to my surgery, I was taking Trammadol through... (13 replies)
... I called the nurse a second time and she had the nerve to tell me it was from the "yellow stuff" they put on your back when they tape you up. I said no, it is green and resembles snot. She said that she would call in a Rx for Levaquin, but she really does not believe that I need it. I asked her what other signs would indicate infection, she said hot to the touch (which it... ... I called the Dr. at 10:45 it is 1:15 and I still have not heard from them. This appears to be the way they run their business. I will be calling them again, now. HL (10 replies)
... HL, Go to the Dr. immediately. I had an infection after my fusion surgery and it is not fun. I wasn't running a fever, the site wasn't red or warm, but I had discharge from the site. I waited 2 weeks before I contacted someone and it was to late. I went to the local ER room and was transported back to Philly where I had the surgery because another hospital wounldn't touch... ... I have a MedSpec back in black, which is all elastic and velcro, I have been wearing it to get used to it, but it sure does not feel very supportive. The last fusion I had, they custom made me a "Browning Brace". Just curious. HL (0 replies)
