... actually, most of us suffer from lower back issues, upper back is more rare. There are only a few of us here with cervical issues and even a smaller number with BOTH cervical and lumbar. I also think there is like two with Thoracic issues. ANYWAY-the arm and hand issues could be from the cervical or thoracic levels. I have pain from my bra strap up to the base of my head. I... ... sounds similar in ways to mine- I have a bulge at my C5-6 with a pinched nerve, loss of lordosis, and spondylosis. I have DDD in both L4-5 and L5-S1, each has a bulge and at L5-S1 there is a spur and a tear. I had a microdiscectomy to remove a bulge in 2002 at that level and it only took one year of work for that disc to go from healthy to poor. The one above was already... (20 replies)

... c- If it is the same as loss of lordosis (loss of the natural curve of the neck), then I too have that. I am only 26 and it is ruining my life. My neck muscles hurt all the time, and I can't bend my neck w/o pain. I also have spondylosis (arthritis) of the neck and a bulge at C5-6 (small). I don't know yet if anything can be done for this. My doc doesn't think surgery will... (4 replies)
... If I had not gone back to my work, I know I wouldn't be having these problems again. I have DDD in the lumbar regions, spondylosis inthe neck, a spur and a tear. PLEASE. I know how you love your job, I love mine too. BUT, I have been told I CANNOT lift EVER AGAIN. ... (4 replies)

... Lucy, I too made a post about Vax-D asking for feedback about it but so far no one is familiar with it or it had caused more pain than before. I'm looking into it because I have spondylosis of L5-S1, but my insurance wont cover it and it's insanely expensive. It's a relatively new procedure, so that's probably why so many people and doctors aren't familiar with it. I've... (7 replies)
... Got my MRI results back and would like to know if anyone could tell me what they mean. so here it is: sagittal images show disc desiccation and annular bulging at L4-5 with similar findings seen on 9/19/01. no spinal stenosis or neural foraminal stenosis. conus medullaris appears normal and terminates at T12. Chronic mild anterior spondylosis and disc space narrowing at... (6 replies)
New here and hello

... Hi everyone. I'm new here. I had a fusion operation in 1996 - L3-L5 following years of back problems and a diagnosis of spondylilothesis and spondylosis. I injured my back when I was 17 landing heavily playing netball (now 42 years old). My back pain has never really gone totally since the surgery, but was "managed" by me and i got back to work eventually. In June 2002 I... (4 replies)
... Hi again everyone :) I posted a query last night, but no one has had a chance to resond yet, but even though I'm a little discouraged, I figured I'd try anogther question and see if anyone might be able to help. Does anyone happen to know how either spondylosis and spondilolisthese (Grade 1) at L5-S compare to osteoprosis, dextroscoliosis and/or Degenerative... (2 replies)
... I also have the same pain. My MRI shows spondylosis at L4, Degenerative Disc Disease at L4-L5 & S1 and bulging disc at L4-L5. Good Luck. I am having an epidural steroid injection tomorrow. (9 replies)
... Hi Teteri66, Thank you very much for your kind and nicely written response. Much appreciated. My pain is focussed in the joints of the lumbar region, top of the buttocks and up the muscles of the back. I get two 'types' joint pain - a jolting, seizing sort of pain that stops me dead in my tracks and feels a bit like I have just stepped off a curb didn't see and jarred... (10 replies)
... Hi Dan. Welcome to the board. I'm sorry you are having back and spine issues at a young age and hope you will find some resolution soon. It is unfortunate that some spinal problems are not obvious. There are a number of problems that produce almost identical symptoms and it can take a very talented diagnostician to figure out what is really going on. Also, there are a... (6 replies)
... I have had 4 weeks of such pain that I have spent 9 days on strict bedrest which has not helped. Can barely walk. Much pain in right hip and down the right leg. Does anyone know what the report below means? Should I be worried? Dr. gave me gabapentin and it makes me feel horrible. not good taking drugs. Help, I need to work. ... Can anyone advice what should i do according to below reports: MRI Report: Redemonstration of multilevel facet arthropathy and ligamentum flavum hypertrophy. At L3-L4 level, left paracentral .disc bulge with thecal sac indentation and mild left lateral recess stenosis. At t-4-L5 level, diffuse disc bulge with right preponderance resulting in... ... Thank you for your reply! I have the same questions that you've expressed. How can a fusion be declared "complete" one year and then declared "failed" a few years later? I do have complete trust in my surgeon but on this issue I think he is not being completely honest. I would like to get a second opinion, especially because I am in extreme pain and I can't seem to... (9 replies)
... Teteri66, the neurologist also is a neurosurgeon. He did my first surgery in '99. I need to go back to him and see what he thinks. Or maybe I should get a brand new perspective with an orthopedic surgeon. I also wondered about the hip being related to my gait being changed as a result of my neck issues, etc... It's entirely possible. Yes, I did have an MRI of... (5 replies)
... Hi to all. I want to say that reading so many of your conversations, the severe issues you have coped with, actually lived with and survived  has made my issues seem so small that itís taken me 2 wks. to actually post something. I'm 57, and living with Mom so she isn't alone, as her husband passed away last yr. and I'm the only single sibling. I don't have a support... (21 replies)
... Was this from your MRI? MRI done June 2013 -- diffuse lumbar spondylosis, left foraminal disk protrusion at l4-l5 touching the l4 nerve root. Lumbar facet arthritis. (15 replies)
