... Originally I was sent to a pain management doctor by my PCP. I went in for lower back and hip pain. I tried injections with no luck so he sent me to a spine surgeon. ... Sorry to hear about all your pain. You have come to the right place. A couple of questions, 1. how many doctors have you seen. I am not that familiar with the the Health care system in the UK but it is always best to see more than one doc. 2. Have you had surgery? for something like yours a lamenectomy/discectomy is a treatment. I beleive you said it was one disc. The... (2 replies)

... Usually surgery to remove hardware is a much easier procedure. However, in your case I couldn't say what would be done since some part of your spine was removed to make room for the pallet. That sounds scary but I have no idea what was removed. I would be concerned that some instability had been created though. But that is something to be determined at a later time. ... (15 replies)

... Yes. He thinks there is more nerve damage. They put me back on my cane when I'm having problems with my legs plus P/t 2 times a week for a month. I'm curious about how long my recovery will take. When they originally did it it took 3 months but, that also included putting in the lead wire and pallet of 32 electrodes. He removed a piece of spine in order to put the pallet in. (15 replies)
