... Hi....I have anuelar tears involving 2 of my discs; the result of an injury almost 4 years ago. I have been unable to work all this time. My doctor recommends a nuecleoplasty. I have some questions for anyone who may have had this procedure. What was the outcome for you? Were you able to return to work (if you had been off) were you able to resume more strenuous... ... Hi Maggie. If you can get your doc/hospital to use the CPT code 62287, you may be able to get it thru. This was a code that's been listed here before by a veteran, Kennethoff ~ and it got his nucleoplasty thru the insurance red tape. It's for Percutaneous Lumbar Decompression, I believe. Yet they DID pay for my nucleoplasty, IDET and intradiscal injection combo surgery. ... Thanks for the replies everyone. I have asked about the intra-disc procedures (IDET, nuecleoplasty, etc.). But I have been told that these procedures require the disc to be no more than 50% degenerated. Unfortunately mine are well beyond that.
