Dr. said all would be free including surgery and the device, but would have to take notes about my experience with the scs. I agree, and now have to meet with the reps. this week. ... Hello people, Has anybody who suffers from chronic back pain had a spinal cord stimulator implant trial, but it didn't help your back pain or it stimulated the wrong area of your body? I'm currently on my 2nd SCS trial & am due for repositioning, removal or completion on 11th May 09, as I've already had 2 trials & on both times the electrodes where placed in the wrong... ... The neurostimulator she is referring to is made by Medtronic and was FDA approved in Nov 2011. It uses SmartPhone technology....I imagine the "free" surgery the poster was referring to is one of the clinical trials. (14 replies)

My Dr. had said there is a new spinal cord stimulator. She had said that it's the cadillac of them all. Just been approved in the US. ... Hi Dev, Spinal Cord stimulators are implanted to help cover nerve pain, not lumbar back pain. Some, and I do mean some get some minor pain relief in their low backs, but that spinal cord stimulators function is to cover the pain signals sent through the spinal cord and it's nerves. If you do decide to go through the testing and the implant, don't expect coverage or easing in... (36 replies)
