I am planning on this working for me, so if positive thinking helps, I have it. I am wondering how long the tempory surgery takes, and also the permanent one, and recovery. ... I have had five surgeries; the most recent was a two level fusion at L-5 - L-4 in March 2007. The doctor used synthetic bone that grew too aggressively and was pinching on the nerve. In December 2007, he went back in and shaved some of the bone growth. Since then, I have had tremendous nerve pain. My doc recommended the stimulator. I had the trial for 10 days and it worked... I really have my hopes up it will work for me, my back doctor will be installing it for me, and he is a wonderful doctor, but I know it doesn't work for everyone. ... herniated disc and did a disc decompression on those three sites. I just can't believe what a succes this has been to this point. I woke up with no leg pain. The spinal cord stimulater was just a procedure to mask pain. I'm glad I got an opinion to see if I could some how get some relief for hopefully many years. ... (7 replies)
