Nobody can really tell you how long it will take for it to heal- it matters how fast your body allows you to heal- The doctor should have told you on how long things should take to heal and when things should be back to normal for you. ... Lynn, I had terrible itching just from the wound healing and the staples themselves. An ice pack helped somewhat. Once the staples were removed and the steri stips they replaced them with fell off, I was able to lightly rub, not itch, the healed incision site. That was the most relief I got. :( Not much help, I know! (6 replies)

... I don't think this tip was mentioned, so here it is. Get a long handle shoe horn with a scratcher on one end. There's a company that makes these but I can't remember the name, you can find them in medical supply stores. The scratcher is great for reaching to your legs or back when you itch, and the shoe horn really helps to get your shoes on if you don't have slip on shoes.... (110 replies)
