... Hi...two mucles often cause a pinched or inflamed sciatic nerve....one is the piriformis muscle which the sciatic nerve runs through and the other is the posas muscle. You need to stretch these muscles out otherwise they spasm and cause irritation and bother the sciatic nerve. Find a good PT or look on line for some good stretches for these two muscles. ... u should have some CT scans, xrays and or an MRI to rule out things. You can also try lying on your back and doing a few gentle stretch type exercises to try to unpinch the nerve causing pain, maybe a few leg lifts but not if it causes you more pain. ... mm: sciatica need not be a lifetime problem. Everyone is different and there are many things and ways you can come to have sciatica. I had it for years and while I still have numerous issues and problems I'm dealing with, I no longer have sciatica. :) hope your feel better soon BW (9 replies)
