... The end of December 2008 I had a C5-6 disc replacement using the prodisc replacement. Within two weeks of the surgery for the disc replacement the xrays revealed that C6-7 had gone from Mild prior to the disc replacement to severe disc height loss and spurring on the disc below the disc replaced. ... Thanks for the input. I did do some reading online about a transitional vertebrae, but the only thing I could find about it says it is an extra vertebrae , usually affecting lumbar 6 (extra). So Im stumped. I am in so much pain, and I got a callback from another doctor in the office, he said its all normal. So now I am really stumped. :confused: (4 replies)

I had a left sided prolapsed disc at L5 which resolved itself after i slipped on the stairs but am left with a back pain of L3 - S1 with a transitional lumbarisation of S1. I am under the impression that 'transitional' means moving thats problably why i get pain in both buttocks an the whole of my lower back. I am sorry i carnt help further!:) (4 replies)

... Hi, I'm not very good with the findings of x-rays and mri's I should be as many as I have had. I believe though I would be getting another opinion from a spine pecialist and have a MRI done which will more conclusove then x-rays.
