It's not the mica that makes the mineral makeup *shiny* - the mica they use in foundation is matte. It's the bismuth oxychloride that makes it shiny. Bismuth also causes (in some individuals) itching & sensitivity. I don't like the look of bismuth on my skin either.

Some of the mineral makeups that don't contain bismuth are:
Aromaleigh, Botany 101, GeoGrafx, & Monave - all of which are available online. All offer samples for a reasonable price. Personally, I find Monave a little too heavy for my taste, but the others are good.

Well, Botany 101 takes about 6-8 weeks - that's the main reason I don't use that one - because I do like their product.

GeoGrafx takes about 4-5 days, as does Aromaleigh.

Yes, Aromaleigh has a lot of choices. Here is a breakdown of the colors:
Yellows = beige + yellow
Warms = beige + yellow + peach
Neutrals = beige + yellow + peach + pink
Cools = beige + peach + pink
Pinks = beige + pink
Linens = just beige
Alabaster = no undertones, for the palest of pale skintones.

The 1's are very, very light. Most pale ladies use the 2's. And if you tend to turn orange with makeup, you'll want to avoid the colors that contain peach.

hmmm....I'm not sure if I Turn orange, though I think I do, at least with drugstore brands. its been so long since I've bought a dept brand that I'm not sure.

crap---I figured the linen 2 and the neutral 1 or 2 would be good but the neutral might turn orange on me? hmmm......the warm looked a bit too warm though.

thank you though : )

I do think I'll try aromaleigh because of the fact that its matte, is lower in price,has a lot of shade range and ships quickly! good deal : )
