If you want something simple yet pretty, I would suggest starting with your most basic of the basics:

1) Concealer and a bit of powder to even out your skin tone, if you even need to
2) A light pink or peach blush
3) Mascara
4) An eyeshadow duo in something earth-toned (browns, taupes, golds)
5) Lipgloss

Ask a consultant wherever you buy your makeup for help in choosing makeup that matches your skin tone, if you feel you need the concealer (to camoflauge blemishes, uneven skin tone, undereye circles) and powder. If you want/need foundation, that will make your skin look extra flawless, but it's kinda tricky if you have no idea what you're doing, so if you don't need a lot of coverage I would suggest skipping it.

Brush a light pink blush from the apples of your cheeks up your cheekbones to your hairline (I love the colour 'Cubic' by MAC, it's a very "I just got in from playing outside in the snow" healthy look). At this point I'd also highly suggest you use good quality brushes, all of mine are MAC. They are expensive, but you will love them forever.

As others have already suggested, use the lighter colour of the duo on your entire lid, then brush the darker very lightly just in the crease. You can highlight your browbone as well with the lighter colour by brushing it lightly under the arches of your eyebrows. As for mascara, if you have blonde hair and fair skin I would suggest getting something in a "dark brown" colour to start, it won't be too shocking. Some suggestions I have are Maybelline Full & Soft, or L'Oreal Voluminous - two brands I've really liked in the past. Apply 1-2 coats to your upper lid only, if you wanna stay natural.

As for lips, I usually wear cheap lipgloss or lip balm, but you can splurge on something like MAC Lip Glass if you want. It's a SUPER shiny thick lipgloss that looks great for a night out. There is the clear version, or if you want a really pretty coloured version I would HIGHLY suggest the colour 'Viva Glam V' (that's the Roman Numeral 5), it looks good on absolutely everyone.

Have fun! Makeup takes practice so don't get discouraged if you feel like you suck the first few times you try... some days I still suck and I've been using makeup for a while now! ;)
