... Mineral makeup is made from minerals & doesn't contain all the additives found in *regular* makeup. It doesn't clog pores (although different mineral makeups have different ingredients, so you might find that some don't work well with your skin, while others do), looks very natural, & is actually good for your skin. Some mineral makeups contain bismuth oxychloride, which... (19 replies)

... You have to look at other things, too - not just makeup. What type of cleanser are you using? Do you use a toner/astringent? Any other products? If you use too many products that are made to strip oil from your face or products that are too harsh - your face is stripped of oil - then the body responds by producing more oil, so you end up even oilier. A gentle cleanser, a... (2 replies)

... OKay, I'm back! LOL! Anyway, some mineral makeups that DON'T contain bismuth are Aromaleigh, GeoGrafx, Botany 101, & Monave. There may be more. But you'll want to avoid Bare Minerals/Escentuals, Youngblood, Sheer Cover, & Jane Iredale. You can get samples of AL, GG, & Monave for reasonable prices. The samples from Botany are reasonable but it can take up to 6-8 weeks to... (6 replies)

... I'm going to have to go with mineral make-up again. It's awesome in any weather. There are a lot of different companies & types - not all mineral make-up is made equal. I prefer the brands that use matte micas & no bismuth oxychloride - you get a matte finish with them. My favorites are Botany 101, Aromaleigh, & GeoGrafx - all of which must be purchased online. ... I agree - mineral makeup is the best. Personally, I don't care for Bare Minerals, but I do like Botany 101, Aromaleigh, & GeoGrafx. My skin has improved SO much since using minerals. You also need to look at your skin care regime. If you use too harsh of a cleanser, it will strip your skin of oils, causing it to produce even more oil. Also, your moisturizer can make a big... ... LOTS of people have that problem with AL's eyeshadows as they are not very heavily pigmented at all~ There are so many better choices for mineral makeup including CORY, Monave, and Geografx-all 3 are far superior to AL and have great customer service, where as IN MY OPINION AL does not. Remember, paying an arm and a leg to get your order fast does not equal good customer... (12 replies)
