... Does anyone know any tricks or brands of makeup powder to help cover shine on the T-Zone area, especially the nose? I'm sure I'm noticing it more now being that it's summer and really warm, but even in the winter I have always had problems with shiny/oily skin. It drives me nuts. I barely have the makeup on my face till it's oily again. I only wear transclucent powder, mainly... (12 replies)
... can be used before putting on your makeup or after to soak up any shine that comes about. It also helps prevent acne with me. ... (12 replies)
... I used the bare minerals brand of powder but it is costly. One day going to visit my mom I stopped by a drugstore to get cover up for a blemish that had popped up. I picked up a cheap brand, wet and wild mineral powder. To my surprise I loved it. Have been using it for 5 mos now. I do not cover my entire face as I am 52 and do not want to bring out fine lines. I avoid... (12 replies)

... The chafing gel is NOT used for yeast infections. My understanding is that the dimethicone in it is what helps control the shine. ( removed ) (12 replies)

... go on so wonderfully. They have just a bit of shimmer to really make your eyes stand out. A truly unique color. Use the pale shade closer to your inner eye or nose and use the brown to blend from the outside of the eye inwards but use that sparingly and don't go too far inward. ... (5 replies)

... Mom2amk, I never thought of the perm papers, I bet those would work. What is this Monistat gel originally used for? It almost sounds like yeast infection stuff. (12 replies)
... The monistat chafing gel works for me. Have a tube in my makeup bag! I use it as a primer, then IF I wear foundation, it is Loreal mineral foundation, but that's not very often. The gel can also be reapplied through the day if you need it. Remember, though, I do not wear foundation on a regular basis, so I don't know what impact the gel will have on that. As for blotting... ... Cosmedicine has a mattifying moisturizer that is really effective for keeping oil production down. However, at times it can be a little too effective. Its a toss up, its either i have oily shiny skin, or use that product but without oil production my skin looks a bit dry. I dunno, maybe u could try it out. I dont know if there is a Sephora near you, but you can ask them to... (12 replies)
... Serrealmeal talked about the clean and clear oil absorbing strips. Well you can make your own. You know those toilet seat covers that you find in some public bathrooms? That paper is the same thing as the strips you pay a mint for! Just get one next time you find them, after applying your make up you lay it on the areas that look oily and pull off, the oil soaks into the paper... (12 replies)
... I've heard the Monistat gel recommended as well. It's Monistat Anti-Chafing gel (NOT to be confused with Monistat yeast infection cream, lol) and it turns from gel into a powder. You could also try Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing sheets, or MAC Blot powder. Those both have really good reviews. (12 replies)
... Thanks for those tips guys:) Kellir: Is a mattifier different from regular pressed powder that is a matte finish? I normally use Cornsilk transclucent natural matte. Lately to give my face a bit of color I've been using Physician's Formula magic mosaic warm beige/light bronzer. But will switch back to no color after summer. I'd be willing to pay a bit more for the higher... (12 replies)
... Have you tried a mattifier? I use clinique pore minizer/mattifier and its amazing. (12 replies)
