Bipolar Disorder Message Board

Bipolar Disorder Board Index

Have you tried DBT? It can work wonders, takes work, but it can really improve things.

And are you both on meds and under a pdoc's and therapist's care.

Sometimes, a temporary separation can help, while you both work on yourselves. One spouse with bp is difficult enough, without two people struggling to manage their disorders and relate at the same time.

Maybe you could suggest going to therapy together to your wife and see if she'll do that. It's obvious you love her, and I have no doubt she loves you.

I don't know what else to say, except that this has to be very painful for you.
I'd go straight for professional help, if I were you. And yes, I think NAMI is a good idea; they are there to help people deal with mental illness in loved ones, so you both might profit from it.

Best and hopes for you,
