Bipolar Disorder Board Index

Severe Exhaustion
Feb 17, 2008
I'm not sure which board to post this, I'm schizoaffective, bipolar type, but I guess this is more of a bipolar thing.

I think it could be my medications, or it could be my illness, or both, but I have had severe exhaustion for the past two years. I sleep about 10 to 18 hours a day, and still feel exhausted. I have very little energy, poor concentration, and am only capable of doing a few things in a day. Even, taking a shower takes a lot out of me. Since I am on meds, I have fewer manic episodes. I would rely on those moments to get things done.

At the moment, I am on depakote, lamictal, seroquel, and just recently put on wellbutrin, because my psych said it acts as an upper, and may give me more energy. Unfortunately, it has made it worse. It is very hard just writing this post.

I have tried waking up after eight hours of sleep, exercising, and have significantly started eating better, but my energy has not improved. When I try to wake up earlier, I am dizzy and in pain and have to lay down before I pass out.

I have a strong feeling it is the anti-psychotics I have been on that is doing this to me.

I am trying to write a couple novels, but I am very tired, and I've had enough.

Any suggestions on how I can improve my condition will be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading.
