Bi-Polar w/ ADD
Jun 26, 2004
... 1st day already trying to cheat on my diet. Unfortunately I can't cook, and worse then that is I hate anything to do with the kitchen. Guess that is how I got into this mess of eating on the go way to often. I am likely to just count carbs better then to eliminate bad carbs (not really couping with the aspect of all the foods it calls for being eliminated). I am thinking... (21 replies)
... from what I've read I think I'm bi-polar, but I don't know anyone who is so I don't know if I'm just having mood swings or if I'm really bi-polar. I'm only a teenager and admittedly all of my medical accomodations have been handled by my parents up until now, but I want to speak with a doctor without having to go through my parents (if that's possible). should I set up an... ... I wish my mania was WOW. When I'm manic, I become irritable, paranoid (thinking everyone is mad at me and/or talking about me), a little aggressive, bored a lot and figity, eat more, etc. When I was a teenager, I used to kick holes in the wall. My depressive episodes make me cry, CRY, CRY, feel hopeless, guilty, and lost. (11 replies)

... I have bipolar 1, and have experienced some really bad manic episodes in the past, but not for 7 years now. When I was really manic one time, I didn't sleep or eat for 5 days. After becoming disoriented, my thoughts raced so fast I couldn't hold on to them, and soon after that I became dillusional, and thought I was famous and that everyone knew me. I talked way too fast, and... (11 replies)
... :D Being 16 years old is a difficult time. You could be experiencing the pains of teenager hood (is that a true word, LOL). However, I might recommend seeing your reg dr first. He or she will be able to direct you in which way to go. Also, have you talked with your parents? They may seem dumb now but the longer I live the smarter they become. I have a 17 year old and my... ... They said the same thing for Mary Kay Letourneau that she suffered from Bi-polar disorder. Now they are doing with Debra. Maybe they were in a psychotic state due to Bi-Polar disorder which caused them go out and sexually abuse a child/teenager. We will never know the entire story. ... I experience that anger as well. As a matter of fact, it seems to be the dominate part of my illness lately. I get angry so quikly, about the stupidest stuff, like I build it up and create it in my mind. Then I blow up at my fiancee. We live together and I feel like my anger is destroying our relationship. For instance, I woke up this morning and for no good reason, starting... (22 replies)
... Mochi, thanks for writing. I sometime find it hard to determine where you draw the line and call it bi-polar or if it's just a mean teenager. My niece excuses most of her behavior away by saying that it is a result of her "disease" and that she can't help her actions. The counselor my niece sees told my sister that bi-polar children will lash out at the ones they love the... (6 replies)
... Before I was diagnosed correctly with Bi-polar 1, there was 5 years when I didn't see a doctor or take any meds. That was back in the late 70's.
