... someone on here said they only change their ring every 4 weeks instead of 3, so that they don't get their period (like skipping placebos on the pill). Is there enough hormones in the ring to protect you from getting pregnant for that 4th week? Maybe it would be safer to take it out after 3 and put a new one right back in? (65 replies)

... I did! I never even took those pills.. I went 3 weeks on the Hormone pills and then a week off pills-- I had sex ALL the time! Even during my period! No problems..Hadn't go pregnant! Hope this helps! and I did that for 4 yrs~ (4 replies)

... that is pretty normal side effect, as is nasea for about 2-3 months (but just keep in mind these will eventually go away and it will be well worth it to know when you are going to have a period, and the cramping will decrese as will the length of time you menstrate (at lease in most cases i have heard, mine went from 7 days to 3-4 days a week, though i am on a different kind)... ... I started on OTC when I was 16, stopped when I was 18 & went back on it when I was 19 & I am now 21. When I first started taking it, it was to regulate my period & for the horrible cramping I had every month.
