I have never made the switch (I'm on Yaz), but the two pills are very similar. The main differences are:

1. Yaz has 20mcg of estrogen while Yasmin has 30mcg of estrogen. This may lead to more estrogen related side effects such as nausea. However, estrogen also can help with complexion, so it may be something to look forward to. Also, if you had any breakthrough bleeding on Yaz, the higher estrogen in Yasmin may counter that.

2. The dosing schedule is different. With Yaz you took 24 days of active hormones and just 4 days of inactive hormones. With Yasmin the schedule will be 21 days of active hormones and 7 days of inactive hormones. As a result your period may be a little bit longer.

Hopefully, you won't experience very much change. I would be interested in hearing about your experience.

Good luck!!!
