... I havent read anything about the Nuvaring and acne, but I've read about Ortho-Evra helping with acne. It's probably a good idea to ask your doctor when you go to get a prescription. They'll be able to look at the form of progestin in each method and decide which one will be better to reduce your acne. (8 replies)
... I'm trying to find a birth control that will help my acne. I've heard so many good things about Yasmin, but I've also heard it causes a lot of bad side effects. I've never been on DRSP before, but I have been on a 30mcg pill before and didn't notice anything weird, except for occasional emotional outbreaks. I'm considering Mircette because I've heard a lot of good things about... (8 replies)
... to help with acne and regulate my cycles. I LOVED it! ... (39 replies)

... I understand how you feel. I get ALOT of side effects too. It is so fustratrating. Some people get less cramps and lighter periods, better acne. BC is also supposed to help prevent endo. With me my cramps get worse, I get depressed, EXTREMELY moody, decreased sex drive, nausea, and acheyness in my legs. With me the possitves are hardley no headaches, lighter periods and... ... Went on the pill for acne back when I was 15 years old (1 year after my first peroid..might have been "too young") anyways, I decided to go off it because I feel its tied to reccurent BV and yeast. Ive also heard that the pill drains your body of essential b-vitamins and vitamin c, which scares me too. The pill dries me out (ive been on avaine, lo estrin, nuvaring, ortho... (0 replies)

... I use NuvaRing and I think its the best thing since sliced bread. I don't have any side effects, no acne problems... it has a very low occurance of side effects and there are no pills to remember to take and its not an implant. ... (5 replies)
... effective in preventing pregnancy. Ive been on it for a year now, and have had no problems yet. And yes my acne has greatly improved. I use to be on ortho lo and then solia but then the main reason i switched to yasmin was to lose some weight...or well to not gain anymore. ... (7 replies)

... I really hated Alesse too. I was on it a few years ago and it made me so depressed and anxious. Also, I had trouble sleeping, and I just cried at EVERYTHING! I don't know if this is the type of trouble that you have been experiencing, but if so, I sympathize. The NuvaRing is a lower dose of hormones - specifically of estrogen. It is also a very different progestin, and... (4 replies)
... Did you think about trying the microgestin instead of junel? It is a different generic so it probably has the same lower copay. If it works it will save you some cash, if it doesnt, then i guess you will have to pay more for the loestrin. Different pharmacies stock different generic companies, so you might be able to find it at a different pharmacy. (3 replies)
... t only started with the Junel. I had PMS all month long. Bloated all month long. I started getting oily skin and huge zits all over my chin. I have never had acne problems my entire life, but all of a sudden I was covered with them. Most days I just felt like I wanted to crawl out of my skin. ... (3 replies)
... And I am not all that optimistic that it'll help with acne or mood swings.... Ugh! ... (45 replies)
... Hi everyone! I guess I should start with a little bit of background info, regarding my experiences with birth control. I am 26 years old and suffer from PMDD, to the extent that I am on Lexapro for the emotional symptoms. My cramps are horrible, my flow is heavy for at least seven days per cycle (which is typically around 21 days, but still varies). I've had all kinds of... (45 replies)
... really really really cleared up my acne and I only have a 2 day period. So it's absolutely wonderful but that's up to you. ... (14 replies)
The Pill...?

... Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo was probably the worst pill I have ever taken. i think i lasted two months on it - it made me constantly nauseous (to the point where i couldnt even get out of bed sometimes) and it was probably the moodiest I have ever been. My skin broke out too which really sucked because its always advertised for its anti-acne effects too. im on yasmin now and its... (6 replies)
... ve tried the patch and seasonel but I can't take hormonal birth control because I have ADD and Anxiety and the BC makes it worse. The best thing I tried was the nuvaring with a steady stream of hormonal release and it worked great but it also gave me bad hormonal headaches every once in a while, acne and wt gain. ... Will it go away?
May 8, 2005
... The breaking out should go away, too. Ortho TriCyclen is approved for the treatment of acne, and the Lo brand should be no different. (1 replies)
Birth Control?

... There are other benefits besides the fact that it can help prevent pregnancy. It can reduce PMS symptoms, reduce acne and breakouts, make your periods lighter and shorter and more regular, and it's been reported that it may even reduce your risk of ovarian cancer. ... (2 replies)
