... Last year my untreated BP was 200/110, but it is now between 108/65-134/85 most of the time. In the end I used my GTN spray, which cleared the pain. At the moment at work it is 153/93. ... (4 replies)

... Grapefruit juice is a cytochrome 450 3a4 inhibitor. Statins are a cytochrome 450 3A4 substrate/inhibitor. The 450 3A4 is the pathway by whch they are metabolized (broken down by the body for use). The 450 3A4 pathway is primarily by the liver. An inhibitor slows down the metabolism and breakdown of substrates. When you get too may things (medications) on the same pathway,... (11 replies)
... will BP med take down heart rate. I have tried a beta blocker and as someone else said on here makes you feel like bird poop on a fence (good description), tried a calcium channel blocker (generic I think of Dilitiazem,sp?),felt like my head would blow off and lethargic, so when I go back to doc is there something I could suggest.
