... Paul, Give the Beta a try. You just might like them. I had similar problem on Norvask, a CCB, and I stopped taking it right away. Edema went away quickly. I don't know...I don't think you want to take another med (Lasix) just to rid the first (CCB)of side affects. Also, I would try the Lasix separately (alone)as per your doc.
