When you say you sometimes "experienced a very stressful situation", do you mean physical, as in lifting something heavy, or mental as in arguing?

When you say you consume a plant based diet, does that mean you're a vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore who only eats meat occasionally. And how long have you been on your current regimen?

Do you have difficulty passing stools? Do you sometimes strain to pass a stool? And, if you do have difficulty, how often do you have a bowel movement?

How long has this intermittent bleeding been going on?

I would first try to rule out bleeding hemorrhoids. Then, if you find you can rule out hemorrhoids, I think the next step would be to get a colonoscopy.
Thank you John for your response and feedback. The stress I'm referring to is emotional and mental, like arguing and dealing with pressure situations.

Regarding diet, it is a vegan diet that excludes meat, dairy, and eggs. I have incorporated this diet for about two years.

I have at least one bowel movement a day, usually in the morning with no straining. The stools are generally bulky and soft, though when I undergo those stressful moments, I do experience a burning sensation when the stool passes out and usually the bleeding afterwards that lasts a few days. As I mentioned before, I don't experience any irritation after the bowel movement is completed despite the bleeding.

This has happened sporadically for the last few years, but I've been keeping track of this and it seems to always correlate when I get stressed out. I did some research to see if this also has happened to others but haven't come across anything. I would like to see a doctor and have this looked at soon but want to educate myself before hand on the name of this condition. Thank you!
