... engenance. This first flare up was indeed the worst. The burning is enough to make me crazy. The docs are not sure what caused mine, other than I've had bouts of diarhhea for awhile. They are doing a colonoscopy next week too, to rule out IBS or Ulcerative Colitis. I am planning on going ahead with surgery so wish me luck! ... (14 replies)
... I would not recommend over-the-counter anti-diarhhea pills, without the okay of a physician. It might mask the symptom, but there might be some underlying condition. Does eating a healthy diet include sufficient fiber? I have never heard about high fat causing watery stool. Have you experimented with your diet much? In any event, with this going on over 2 years, the... (5 replies)

... It sure sounds like Celiac Disease to me--those are classic symptoms. There is a blood test that is pretty reliable to diagnose it and there are other ways that are more expensive. I read that in Great Britain everyone with IBS was going to be tested for Celiac Disease, with their permission of course. (3 replies)
... Me too. Some foods like salads or dairy always set it off, but others do too. There is a med to slow down the process, but I've been this way for so long I just deal with it. I don't like to eat til I'm home at night, then look out..everything is fair game and I'm usually up all night afterwards. Its good you've had a colonoscopy and I assume it was okay, so you may have just... (3 replies)
... Sbremom - Some general info/tips to help you with your surgery: Nursing lying down. My son was 8 months old and 22 pounds when I had the surgery. We never got the hang of nursing lying down, so he sat on my lap while breastfeeding (he's also very tall). This put a lot of extra weight on my bottom. I'd recommend working now while your baby is young to nurse her... (80 replies)

I've resorted to taking some vicodin this weekend just to be able to get around and stop my anal muscles from spasming. Does that happen to y'all when it feels like your anal muscles clinch/spasm? It usually happens a few times a day, but when I'm fatigued (especially the last 2... (78 replies)
