Hello everyone,

I've had vertigo, and migraines for about 4 years now. I see an ENT in order clear the wax in my ears, because I have waxy ears. Often times there are pieces that get stuck and have caused problems of vertigo or so it seemed at the time. Since the vertigo came back periodically, my ENT suggested I go through a battery of auditory tests - which came back fine. But when 3 weeks ago, I continued to have persistent vertigo, dizziness, ringing in the ears nausea and felt like my brain was going to explode I called my ENT and he ordered an MRI.
They found a pineal cyst of 1.5 cm. By the way the next day after my MRI, I had severe migraines and vomited about 3 times that day. I called my lawyer to get my will in order - and since then my life has changed completely.

So my ENT said that the cyst isn't causing my symptoms, and this a top rated Dr. So I went to a neurologist, unfortunately this one was not rated well - but I needed to see someone quickly. He told me again that my symptoms were not related to the cyst. I'm now seeing a neuro-surgeon in a few days, 2 actually. Then I'm going to see an endocrinologist, and a neuro-ophtamalogist, as well as a rheumatologist.....

I still feel like there is a fish in my head constantly. I get nauseous turning around in my bed, and have vertigo constantly. People around me don't understand me first of all, and then think I'm exaggerating.

Like you all I'm looking for solutions. Have any of you tried meditation and or changing your diet? There is Lupus in my family, and I know that can affect the CNS (Central Nervous System). I also have tremors, and have had joint pains for years, actually since I was a kid.

I suffer from insomnia, since I was as little as I can remember. Possibly 4 or 5 years old. I asked my mother if she knew how one falls asleep. She told me to close my eyes..... I have also been a sleep-walker, and had since very young a stressful life filled ....

I am finally trying to regain my life, and now this. A pineal cyst in the middle of my brain! Considered a rare occurrence when symptomatic based on the NORD or GARD - They gave me a few phone numbers for NeuroSurgeons, but I don't necessarily want to have neurosurgery! Is there a way to shrink this cyst.

Since this thing produces melatonin, and other hormones. Could this cyst be due to too much of or lack of such hormones? Adrenal exhaustion?

I can feel my head throbbing, have memory loss, am very sensitive to light, and noise. It's just a constant splitting head-ache all the time. It's been 10 days now, and I'm really scared.

I'd love to hear from all of you whom have had similar experiences. Did you have surgery? Did the cyst recur? How was the recovery period? Do you feel the same? Where did you have surgery? Are there alternative methods for living with it? What jobs can you do if this is a debilitating condition? Are we covered by Disability in case this is a persistent problem?

Thanks everybody, and God Bless you all! Hang in there. We're gonna get to the bottom of this.

PS: Also have ovarian cysts.... age 41
I also have a pineal cyst about the same size and I am convinced that it is causing all the same symptoms you have described. All doctors I've seen tell me the same thing that it couldn't be causing anything. However, In 2010 I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor and something called pseudotumor cerebri. I had the pituitary tumor removed and I still had the same symptoms as before due to the pseudotumor cerebri also known as Idiopathic Intercrainial Hypertension. The only way to test for it is through a spinal tap to measure the amount of cerebral spinal fluid is built up around you brain. When it builds up too much pressure it causes symptoms similar to a brain tumor.
P.S. I also have ovarian cysts
