Re: Abnormal MRI
Feb 15, 2005
I am new here so please bear with me. For the past two years I have had a LOT of pain and neurological type problems and have been sent from one "specialist" to another. In the meantime, I have had to quit a very good government job plus all of the stress it causes on the entire family, etc. Each new dr sent me for an MRI, I've been hospitalized several times, etc. I can not even begin to count the number of MRIs I have had done since 6/03! Each time I have been told they were normal or within reason.

Finally, my doctor sent me to a new neurologist because he thought I was being "blown off" by the others due to my age (33). This new dr looked at the very first MRI that was done and could immediately she several lesions on my brain as well as notice abnormalities in my brain. I was always a straight A student in school and it took quite some time to convince my dr of this due to what he could see in my brain.

I have migraines daily and have still not been able to get any relief. This is on top of the other problems I have been having, severe pain all of the time in my muscles, arms and legs tingling and going numb, jerking, shaking. I have had such severe back pain that I was hospialized for weeks at a time.

I would like to know where you are supposed to go to get help if the doctors don't seem to be able to figure it out. I too, have had problems of sleeping a lot here recently, and was unable to get my kindergartner off of the bus, which caused major problems at home. I also have a 3 yr. old. At this point I feel that this is a real safety issue. Not only to myself but also to my children.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
