Hi Pheobe13,

Before all this began (a year and a half ago), I used to be a DJ in front of approx 1000+ people per night. I used to talk on the Mic and be the most confident person ever. Now it's as though I've had a personality transplant.

Something has caused all of these symptoms and I know that the anxiety came after all these symptoms not before. I am also worried about the fact it could be a pituitary tumor or something , although both brain MRI's are clear. Would this kind of thing show up without them looking for it?

I don't know if you have any of these symptoms but I am currently suffering with :

Waking up 06:00 every morning with broken sleep (neigher awake/asleep from 6am - strange thoughts run through mind automatically)
Vivid dreams and nightmares every night
Random Episodic Anxiety
Random Episodic Panic Attacks
Random Episodic Depression
Crying outbusts for no reason
Extremely sore neck and shoulders (worse when in bed)
Sore Leg calf muscles and knee cap joints (worse at rest)
Burning Eyes but no redness
Puffy Eyes
Thick bushy eyebrows
Hoarse voice (loss of lower ranges)
Discolored phlegm (sputum) - worse when lying horizontal
Tinnitus
Dizziness
Carpal Tunnel (mild)
Clumsiness
Short term memory loss
TMJ
Face fullness episodic jaw pressure
Forehead pressure
Random short headaches
Neck pain/forehead pressure worse when lying down with pressure on back of head.
Intolerence to Antidepressants of SSRI kind (can tolorate Tricyclics but dont do anything)
Nasal openings swell and extremely painfull to touch for days (one sided)
Post nasal drip
Periodic Belching
Periodic Excessive Flatulance
Cant walk into large buildings (mall's, supermarkets etc)
Cant tolerate excessive loud noise
Muscle twitching
Strange drugged feeling which comes and goes throughout the day

Take care,

Mike.

I have EVERY single symptoms you have. Its wierd kinda. Every single one. I have been suffering with these symptoms for 7 years now. Nothing has come of this so far. I am very curious about the possibility of a pituitary tumor. I have had CT's and MRI's however, neither were specificly of the pituitary. Just the entire brain. Physicians can request blowen up views of the pituitary. Sometimes they will also do an MRI of the pituitary then order another MRI of the pituitary with contrast to see if there is a difference between the two images.

I have also ben taking 50mcg's of cytomel/day to rule out thyroid disease. I have been doing this for 3 weeks and feel a bit better but not that much.

I am also looking into the possibility of chronic sinus infection. Never really thought about this as an option but my good friends mother had symptoms similar to mine and after having all her sinus tissue removed felt 100% better.

Make sure you keep us posted with how your doing. Were all in this together and I need all the help I can get to diagnose whats wrong.
Mike,
I can relate to a lot of the symptoms, nearly all of them in fact, on and off. Except the voice changing and phlegm. Also, my eyes didn't really burn, but I'd often have pain behind them. I have also always been quite and anxious person since school, it didn't come on suddenly, but the symptoms only started when I had a nervous breakdown and got very depressed and had panic attacks for about a year really badly.

Can I ask, have you ever taken ecstacy or any other illegal drugs? I only ask because I suspect it was my use of it that caused the symptoms to be so bad. Also smoking pot is really bad for anxiety, and avoid caffiene at all costs as it is evil at triggering panic attacks and stuff.

I didn't have the excess wind, but due to the intense feeling of fear I used to get, I did have constant diarhoea (I don't know how you spell that)... nice. So it might be the anxiety causing those problems. I also used to go round in a 'brain fog' for most of the day, which no-one understood, was hard to describe and doctors could do nothing about. I tried anti-depressants for nearly a week, but couldn't sleep at all for over four days, felt like I was going mad, and had to stop them. I took st. johns wort in the end for about a year. Don't know if it helped or not, but it didn't do any harm.

Neck and shoulder pain can come from stress, I used to have pains all over and pains in my legs, hot points in my head, and cold feelings in my chest. I don't know if you have anxiety, but most of the symptoms you listed can be put down to anxiety and depression. All I know is that I convinced myself I had every disease and tumor under the sun, because the symptoms didn't feel like they were coming from me, but now I am pretty much normal, still quite anxious, but without the severe symptoms. So have hope that it might be 'just' anxiety. (Not really 'just' because it's so horrible.)

Maybe your doctor could prescribe a relaxant to take when the panic is bad, if you can't have anti-depressants? If the symptoms lessen when you are relaxed, then that would be a good sign that it is not a disease that is affecting you, more of an imbalance in the mind.

I hope you both get to the bottom of this, whatever the cause, good luck..
Pheebs :)
