Brain pain
Sep 6, 2006
After being involved in a MVA almost 2 years ago new symptoms are popping up. About 1 1/2 yrs ago, I noticed that when I pull my hair back, comb or shampoo my hair, I get a deep pain in my head above my ear but temple height. It seems to only cause me pain when touched. I often feel like there is something crawling in my head. I do have 3 bulging cervial discs and one that is herniated. My doctors office suspected the Trijeminal nerve. I had an MRI done a few days ago and I do not understand the findings. Other than mucosal thickening in the sinus cavities it indicated the following: Questionable altered signal involving the region of the posterior thalamus(Pulvinar) Several diffusion weighted sequences demonstrate equivocal altered diffusion involving brain stem versus artifact.
Impression:Current MRI demonstrates equivocal hypersensitivity in the region of the pulvinar adjacent to the anterior aspect of the atria of both lateral ventricles. There is artifact versus diffusion abnormality involving the anterior left brain stem.
Plan: Patient should have a follow-up coronal dual echo & flair weighted coronal images for more optimal evaluation of this region of the brain as well as gadolonium enhanced images in all 3 planes in order to exclude pathology.

What does this all mean? A little about me: I have suffered from migraines since I was a small child. I worn corrective lenses since I am 11. I have a ton of floaters that never go away. Over the years, I have been tested for Sjogrens disease, Myathenias gravis, Lyme, Lupus to name a few. I have episodes when my eyes literally stick to my eyeballs when I sleep. It is horrible and I have to manually open my eyes. I have tears and and had to use all types of products which didn't work and this would eventually go away only to come back after 6 months or so. I have been given a DX of Fibromyalgia years ago due to constant joint pain and flareups. Rheumotoid was negative though it has been suspected that I have heperdon nodules that are now gone?? I wake up with muscle cramps like charlie horses, I wake during the night gasping for my breath as I have a spasmodic cough episode. I do have asthma though. I can't even laugh without a cough attack. I am now experiencing what is believed to be plantar fascitis. I have trouble walking if I sit for as little as 10 minutes sometimes. sore shoulder joints, sensitive spine, I get heat down my calves often, numb toes. I do have other tendonitis issues but feel that they come from my deconditioning caused by MVA. I am also on Topril for increased heartrate which I can only attribute to my deconditioning as well, however, I have had PVCs for. some time. I can't fall asleep at night and can't get up in the A.M. Memory is poor as is my concentration. I look for the right words to say midstream talking. I feel like I am losing it. I also am scared that I will one day be told that I have MS. What do you think?
OH, I forgot to mention that all tests have come back negative except for this MRI and a holtor monitor test.
