Hi, barb. MS lesions have specific characteristics, like shape (ovoid) and location. From what I understand, only Lyme Disease lesions present exactly the same; the other types have differences. That's why it's important to make sure the neurologist is really on point, and if you suspect MS, you need to see a specialist in that area.
I have multiple small deep white matter lesions in my brain.

From what I read, other than MS, diagnostic considerations for brain lesions would include vasculitis (inflamation of the brain), migraine, ischemic (lack of oxygen), lupus, lyme disease, too much calcium and vitamin D.
