Brain & Nervous System Disorders Board Index

I feel as though no one else has experienced what I have been diagnosed with - "Thalamic Pain Syndrome" and "Radioculopathies"...I have had 12+ various surgeries and procedures, and even more Doctors from every field imaginable. But, I still have ALL of the pain.

For the first 5 years I was prescribed a plethora of Opiates (Fentanyls, Oxy-Everything's, Morphines, etc), Anticonvulsants, Serotonin Modulators, Pregabalin's, and nothing stopped the severe stabbing in my upper-right thorasic back area (near T5). For the past 6 years, I have been on Methadone regimine for nerve pain...50MG a day. I was on a much higher dosage, but that didn't make any difference either. So, 50MG does the exact same thing as difference with me. But, I want OFF of Methadone completely.

So, is there any hope of some type of new type of surgery/procedure that can kill the nerves at my particular area of pain? I find it difficult to believe that if I can draw a circle around the area of pain, that there should be some type of doctor that can "zap" the nerves with a laser or something, and kill them so that they cannot receive any pain receptors from my brain...or be effected by the radioculpothies.

It has been 9 years and 9 months since this began, and I am so very tired of having to take pills and be in pain. I would love to have my life back.

Any info would be so very much appreciated...
