... Please help! Lately I've been having odd symptoms (as stated in the subject line ^), and I'm nervous that it may be a brain tumor or something. I know that I may be over-reacting, but I don't see what else it could be. I had a CAT scan of my sinuses to see if that was causing it -- my sinuses were clear. I had 2 eye exams -- my eyes are fine. I've also been having back... (5 replies)

... Give it a little time. It could be just a bug. It does not have to be a brain tumor. Check your blood pressure. Make a list of medicines you are taking and check the side effects. If your symptoms don't go away soon then I would go back to the doctor's and he may refer you to a specialist. (5 replies)

... Hi Scout~ There are many symptoms of Chiari. Many of us have similiar things and many are different. Here is my history of symptoms: In my early 20's I began having tingling in my right leg. I was dealing with something very traumatic so my Dr was quick to come to the anxiety conclusion and I was given an antidepresant. Though my tingling persisted, I never went back... (8 replies)
... Hi Star~ I couldn't find where your thread was posted so I figured I'd post to you here with all of us fellow chiarians and hopefully others can offer some advice and help too. Most Dr's are quick to say our symptoms are unrelated to chiari and quickly put the blame on anxiety and depression. I went though that battle myself for a very long time. I then found the... ... Hi Kimberly~ Chiari is when the skull at the base of your head is too small, causing the brain to be squished and descend into the hole in the base of the skull, compressing the nerves of the brain stem and spinal cord. There is a wide variety of symptoms but here is a small list with the more common symptoms. Take care~ Cindy Headaches in the base of your head that worsen... (39 replies)
... Hi Bill~ With Chiari, you can't see an abnormality in our heads. Our heads look just like everyone else. The abnormalty is in the skull, it the back of the head. The skull is actually too small, therefore not leaving enough space for the brain. Many people are born with this and go a lifetime without experiencing any symptoms. An injury to the head and neck, such as a car... (29 replies)

... Hi Chell~ I'm so sorry you are having to deal with all this and trying to keep it all together. Its hard enough to get through let alone with small children to raise. I have been dealing with similiar symptoms and I tell myself how lucky I am that my symptoms didn't become real bad until my kids were older and can take care of themselves. I still do have a teenager to... (14 replies)

... Hi Kelli~ I'm glad our responses were helpful in helping you not feel so alone. The MS board was a heaven sent for me. Bearygood and a few others helped me tremendously when I was in limbo searching for answers. They gave me the strength not to give up and search for answers. The symptoms are very similiar to MS so many people end up there or actually mis diagnosed with... (14 replies)
... Hi~ So many people out here that know something is going on with our bodies and doctors just can't seem to find anything wrong. They look for MS, lyme, vitamin deficiencies, lupis among many other things. This is the approach that should be taken from a proffesional point of view. But when everything comes up fine, the professional word begins to discredit us. They... (7 replies)

... At this point in time,I do thin it would be best to try and start at the top and work your way down.by that I mean, getting an MRI with contrast done on your brain would really be the best place to start and if that shows nothing, next try and MRI on the c spine.you should actually be able to have both areas scanned at the same time.this would show any(in most cases) possible...
