Need help!
My 47 year old husband is in the hospital in Miami with a complete small bowel obstruction. The doctor here wants to remove just about everything (colon/GI/etc.) regardless of what is causing the obstruction. They believe that it could be a tumor blocking or it could be scar tissue from his colorectal surgery three months ago? He has been completely obsructed for three weeks and is being fed I.V. and has a nasogastric tube. His blood work seems good, there is no sign of peritonitis or strangulation. He does NOT want to undergo major surgery because we feel it is just an obstruction and not the cancer growing and spreading like they assume.
ANY suggestions, or info would be most helpful. We are currently seeking 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinions.
