... My husbands friend was just diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer(glioma) He starts chemo & radiation in a few days. Can anyone tell me what the prognosis is even with treatment? Is it curable? Or does treatment just prolong the end? (1 replies)

... Well, since she has mets to her brain, it by definition means that she has stage IV lung cancer (as you wrote), and treatment at this point is not curative. The treatment they'll offer her is palliative (i.e. for symptomatic relief.) (7 replies)
