Hi everyone, my sister and I have been taking care of my mom 24/7 for the past few years. It's very difficult to meet any men that are understanding of the situation. Therefore, I remain single at the age of 36. It's frustrating. How do you all deal with it--where do you meet someone who is compassionate and willing to accept the time commitments of a full time caregiver? I figure the best bet would be to meet a man that is also a caregiver, but where do you meet caregivers? It's not like there's an internet dating site for caregivers!
Hello all:

I am a single male caregiver to my retired mother. She is 84 and I am 45.

There are a lot of care issues with her, and I get Home Care help from the Government.

I've thought about a wife, but I am on disability welfare recovering from a 30-year depression and anxiety problem. We haven't much money. All that takes me off the eligible list.

XSEL: I have heard about a good few couples living with an ailing parent. :)

[B]Why not a caregiver's Internet dating service? Simply state the truth clearly and briefly. You may not get as many replies as otherwise, but what about the one that does reply, eh?

[QUOTE=XSELR8T;1495387]Oh how I know the feeling, I'm a 34 year old single male taking care of my Mother. I'm her 24/7 Caregiver with very little help from family. It's been since 1997, so I can relate. All the lonley feelings, feeling like you will never find anyone or find someone that understands what you go through, or someone that will stick with you. It's really depressing. Maybe one day.

Hi, I'm a single caregiver to my 87 year old mother who is suffering from Parkinsons disease, copd which is a lung disease, and diabetes since 1995. I have a brother living in Chicago but no help from him. My mom is on SCAN Health plan which allows a caregiver to come in 5 days a week for 3 hours a day. She is also on Hospice for special risk patients. I registered on several dating sites but have only gained friends, not love interests as of yet. I have come across only 2 caregivers. I would also like to get a dating service or meetup group of caregivers together.

I love the idea, however, a website of that caliber would cost a great deal of money to create. Do you have any ideas?
