... Hi Lastramy It does sound like the "magic bullet" at first. But, from doing a search of "gastrocnemius recession" and seeing more descriptions, I think there'd have to be a good, solid case to do such a thing. I have yet to read what the risks and pros/cons are (one I know is possible damage to the sural nerve that courses through the gastroc/soleus). How these pros/cons... (627 replies)
... Hi Just wondering if any adults out there have had a gastrocnemius recession in adulthood (vs childhood) to manage persistent calf and toe spasticity. I've been seeing lots of literature on reputable sites about this procedure done on children, but have yet to see it used in adults. Any information or feedback is most appreciated! Many thanks!
