... To be honest, your message here really depresses me. We work so hard with our boy that has CP diplegia, and I feel like maybe we shouldn't. If the outcome is like yours, then why should we work so hard if it will hurt his joints and he'll get arthritis anyway. It sucks that my child has CP. ... nephew, my sister buys the cheapest velcro sneakers she can find, one size bigger than his actual size. Canvas didn't hold up to everyday wear and tear, so look for leather, real or fake, and the lower cut the better. Also, leather will stretch somewhat to fit the AFO without tearing. ... (15 replies)

... As I understand it, the AFOs will be to stretch out the calf and hopefully reduce spasming in the process of that stretch. Never heard of it for this use so I am curious.
