... hi my 11yr old had squint surgery on both eyes when she was 2yrs old, to correct an up down squint, (they left the side to side squints alone as they were very complicated) she was fine, it just looked awful when she came back from theatre as her pillow was very bloody, but they said it was just a little blood but they had put a gel liquid into her eyes and it had mixed in... ... I've never heard of squint surgery so I can't be of any specific help, but I have had two CP related (strabismus) eye surgeries. I was like between the ages of 1.5 and 3 but I remember them being way easier than ortho surgeries :) (5 replies)

Glasses made a HUGE difference to my son ie from 1 year old not being able to see a rattle in front of his face, to now seeing the smallest things as long as there is no clutter. I... (38 replies)
... My son has cortical visual impairment, plus a squint - at the age of 1 he had trouble following a rattle right in front of his face. I could walk across the room and he wouldnt even see me. He is now 6 years old and (in theory) with his corrective glasses he could almost qualify for a driving license sightwise!! His vision has improved a zillion times, I believe getting the...
